Baccaulareate

International baccaulareate diploma programme.

At this stage, we begin to collect the rewards of the work carried out by the entire Educational Community [] carried out since the Infant stages. We collect the rewards in the sense that we can see how our students manifest the qualities and characteristics for which we have educated them. However, the work is not finished because the desire to learn and the academic, cultural, sports and artistic inquisitiveness will accompany our students along their lives.

At this point, our students will have to make the first decisions about their academic future, and as a result their career; but we are sure of their correct choice because they have been educated in reflection and self-knowledge and in addition they have their teacher´s advice at their disposal and the very important work of the School´s Guidance Department.

Upon arrival at the Baccalaureate, our students may choose to take the National Baccalaureate or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (PD). The latter aims to form students who achieve an excellent breadth and depth in their knowledge, while growing physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically. Students reflect on the nature of knowledge, carry out independent research and carry out a project that often involves community service activities.

The Diploma Programme represents much more than a group of subjects, with a programme, a methodology and rigorous evaluation, it goes much further, it seeks above all to

«To form caring, informed and eager for knowledge young people, capable of creating a better and more peaceful world, within the framework of mutual understanding and cultural respect … These programmes encourage students from all over the world to adopt an active attitude of lifelong learning, to be compassionate and to understand that other people, with their differences, may also be right».

as we can read in the International Baccalaureate Statement of Principles. The development of the person along with rigorous academic contents characterises this programme and being able to offer this training opportunity to our students represents a real satisfaction and a beautiful challenge year after year.
